Yadi

Mary Ann Beattie

Every Monday through Friday the Café of Life serves food to hungry people under the banyan tree in the park in Bonita Springs. There is a variety of food, different cooks, servers, clients - certainly the weather is not consistent; but there is one constant - Yadi, our site manager. She is always therewith the welcoming smile, understanding way and efficient, organized operation.

The key, according to Yadi, is that she loves her job. She finds it very fulfilling in every way and she feels blessed to have a job that she enjoys so much. It is so evident to all who know her that Yadi loves people and relates well to all who meet her at the Café. She is a wonderful listener and knows nearly all the clients by name and by situation. She knows who needs help and works to find solutions to their many problems. Ask the volunteers who work with Yadi and they will tell you she is always pleasant and helpful and keeps things moving in an orderly fashion.

Yadi was born in Texas, but came to Southwest Florida with her family when she was five years old. She has two younger sisters and they and her parents still live nearby. Yadi and her husband, Conrad, are busy with their children Armando, Anthony, Daniel and Jasmine. When Yadi talks about her favorite fun activity she sparkles. She's a beach baby! She loves the sun, water, swimming and all related activities. She taught her children to swim when they were very young and the whole family enjoys the beach. No chance they'll ever go North!

We are very fortunate to have Yadi as our site manager. She's a joy to work with.
